Dudley & Finch | Public Affairs & Philanthropy (DF) is a management and strategy consulting firm focused on fostering public-private partnerships worldwide.  Founded by Jacob A. James in 2019, our hallmark is providing trustworthy counsel to clients wishing to advance, expedite, or improve their philanthropic and advocacy outcomes.  With wide-ranging expertise across multiple sectors and a global network of associates, DF provides flexible and intuitive solutions to complex political, strategic, and environmental challenges facing foundations and nonprofit advocates at every scale.

The peculiar name “Dudley & Finch” is an homage to Jacob’s mother Gerrie E. James, the daughter of Londoner-turned-American Loraine Finch, and World War II US Merchant Marine John Dudley. DF is rooted to a tight-knit San Diego family led by Gerrie, the ever-benevolent matriarch and healthcare executive whose pride and joy are her three sons US Army Major Jason D. James, Joshua A. James, a nonprofit CFO, in San Diego, and Jacob. Inspired by Gerrie’s multi-decade career as a Sharp Healthcare nurse, Jacob and his brothers are passionate advocates for women’s pay equity and universal mental health access.
